Negin Razzaghi

I was born in Sari, Iran, a city surrounded by the beauty of the Caspian Sea. From an early age, I was drawn to singing, acting, and writing. My artistic journey began with acting lessons, followed by piano studies and my first experiences with choral singing in one of the few active choirs in Iran — and the only classical choir in northern Iran at that time. This was my first encounter with classical music, which deeply awakened my curiosity and passion for this art form.

I continued my musical education through studies in solfège, harmony, piano, composition, and classical singing. At the same time, I studied Dramatic Literature at the University of Art in Tehran, where I developed a strong connection between music, theatre, storytelling, and performance.
After completing my studies in Iran, I moved to Germany to pursue my education in classical singing. I studied at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and later continued my studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Classical Singing.

Throughout my studies, I have been involved in various artistic projects as a singer and creator. My work focuses on building bridges between European classical music and Persian musical traditions, as well as exploring the connections between music, literature, theatre, and performance. A particular focus of my artistic work is the presentation of works by Iranian composers and creating spaces for intercultural dialogue, including projects and concerts with Iranian repertoire at festivals such as Feminale and Liedstadt Festival.

As a singer, I perform both classical repertoire and Persian music, always searching for the expressive possibilities of the voice across cultures and traditions.
Alongside my artistic work, I have continuously developed my skills as a vocal educator, working with students of different ages and levels in individual and group settings. My teaching approach combines healthy vocal technique, musical expression, creativity, and the joy of discovering one’s own voice.

During my studies, I had the privilege of receiving artistic and pedagogical impulses from inspiring teachers, including Henryk Böhm, Mascha Pörzgen, Carolyn James, Ulrike Sonntag, Alexandra von der Weth, and others.
